Computer - A computer is a programmable machine that manipulates data.

Hardware - Can go into a computer (ex: motherboard, ram, memory, cables, graphics card, etc...)

Software - something you can download/store on the memory (ex: a game or pregame such as an inti virus)

Program - is some thing on a computer such as a game or word,PowerPoint, etc....)

Input - some thing that makes a computer do something such as moving the mouse makes the pointer on the computer move

Output - some thing such as a monitor, speakers or CD/DVD burner (helps you to under stand what the computer is doing)

Storage - often called memory to store or hold data witch your are using or saved

Processing - mostly done by the CPU to transfer code to stuff the computer under stands

Monitor - to produce an image the we can see and interact with













Keyboard - an input device for a computer so the user can type stuff on it









Hard drive -  computer hardware that holds and spins a magnetic or optical disk and reads and writes information on it









Cooling fan - some thing to stop stuff such as the CPU or power supply from over heating












RAM - RAM stands for Random Access Memory it holds files that are in use for a short period of time while the computer is turned on.












The central processing unit is the portion of a computer system that carries out the instructions of a computer program












clock - keeps the CPU in time


modem -  connect computers by a telephone line allowing them to use Internet
video card - sends video signals to an external output device
sound card - computer hardware device used for generating and capturing sounds

motherboard - the primary circuit board of a personal computer, containing the circuitry for the central processing unit, keyboard, mouse and monitor, together with slots for other devices
USB stick -  flash memory data storage device
CD - ROM - a compact disk that is used with a computer
DVD drive - reads DVD disks witch are much larger then Cd's
CD drive - a drive that reads a compact disc and that is connected to an audio system


Floppy disk - portable plastic disk coated in a magnetisable substance used for storing data
Mouse - hand-operated electronic device that controls the coordinates of a cursor on your computer screen
Printer - prints stuff onto paper for you to read away from the computer
Power supply - provides power to every thing in the computer that needs power at the right volts
computer microphone - speak into to talk to people on a web cam etc....
web cam - use when talking to friends so they can see you also used to take photos
speakers - let you listen to sound on games or music

gaming stick - helps you in some games to play better

headphones - lets you listen to stuff without annoying other people
